Apply.. Cancel...Apply... Cancel...

WTF sia.... I am really so tired at work man. Need to do so many things... quotations, deliveries, project management, tender interviews, sample boards and what have you.... Sometimes I am just so busy at work that time seems to fly so fast. 0830am reach office.... 10am plus go la kopi at 6th floor.. then its work your ass away all the way liao.... Therefore late lunch or no lunch seems to be a norm in my Mondays to Fridays work schedule... And guess what.. when people seems to be relaxing on their Fridays.... I seem to be even busier than Mondays... Dun know why.. I have noticed this pattern for the past few weeks... and I dun think is bcoz my work piles up.. but is bcoz unexpected stuff just comes in and you need to settle them. I am quite efficient actually ok.... make no mistake about it.... Actually... I like to be busy at work.. keeps me occupied and productive... no time for other worries....

ya right.... why apply cancel apply cancel?? almost a month ago... I purposely took two days leave on Monday and Tuesday to rest and enjoy my long week end.. Guess what ... Consultant call me on Wednesday to collect tender documents for Lucky Tower.. I have just finished my tender quote for Copthorne Orchid Condo... and thought of resting... suddenly Lucky Tower pop out from no where... ok lor.. bo pian... its either I loose this project or I enjoy my long weekend.... so no choice... better take up this project.... so long weekends gone....

Finally managed to complete these 2 tender quotes and submit them on time... Went for Copthorne Tender interview last last Friday at CDL office... ended almost 7pm.... damn it... ppl enjoying their weekend liao and i just left CDL office.. Ok never mind ya... its ok.. work ma.. bo pian...

Finally come this week... Monday blue... so I told myself I am gonna take my 2 days leave this thurs and friday... finally i apply again.. waiting for my manager to approve... yup.. I inform my manager about that application and she understood that i wanted a rest... then come about 1152am... I was handed a fax document dated 14th May 2010 from this consultant.... inside stated "Pls submit your tender clarification together with your sample boards by 17th May 2010 before 12 noon to Ms XXXX "... I tell you... i almost peng san..... What?????? That leaves me only 7 mins to build a sample board... do up my tender clarification and travel to CDL office.... I tell you i almost peng san on my table.. for a minute or so.. i was totally lost..totally stupefied and dumbfounded... my mind just practically went blank bcoz i also dun know what to do and what my manager's reaction will be if she knows this.....

So again.. bo pian lor.... call and beg consultant... Consultant very nice also.. ask me to call CDL project manager to plead for more grace.... Thank God.. today... everyone seems nice... managed to submit my sample board and clarification to their office. But then again.. I was told that the tender interview for this Lucky Tower is on wednesday 10am... Sian liao.. need to cancel my Thurs and Fri leave that i just applied in the morning.. bcoz sure got follow ups and submision to do the next day after Wed's tender interview.... really very knn one... its like a curse....

Haiz... with my leave cancellation again.. i dun know when I can apply for leave again... So busy busy at work such that taking leave to enjoy seems so hard.. want to take MC or urgent leave also need to think what I have to do that day... Well..my birthday is just round the corner in June... so I guess that will be when i am gonna take my well deserved rest.... Yes, rest i need... Yes rest...

Workload on my side is expected to pile up even more over the next few months I suppose... I hope my management will show mercy by employing one more sales guy to help us out... In fact... in my team.. i am the only one that knows about Merten Switches liao.. the others still very unfamiliar and its going to take a few months or even 1 yr plus provided they put some heart in learning Merten switches.... From now till then... I will have to handle or help out most of the Merten enquiries.. really not easy....

The thing that i am most glad is that even my manager had already recognised the fact that I am very very tied up in my schedule already.. compared to those initial days when i just entered Schneider as a newbie... helping my seniors do delivery, sample boards and other errands... haiz... well.. in fact.. it is through all these errands that i picked up quite an amount of knowledge in Clipsal and especially Merten switches.... Those days were quite hectic but essential for my learning experience...

Sian.. today only Monday nia... still got 4 more days to go before another weekend sets...

May the good Lord grant me grace and strength to see me through this torturous week in office....

Ok.. goto finish my snicker bars before i go sleep..nite snack....

Ciao.....

Giant Tablets

Hello there... How are you people? Long time no hear from me... my hibernation period has been quite a while since I last blog.. haha...

Behold our motherland's most recent achievement at Marina Bay.... The Marina Bay Sands.... Indeed these 3 hotel towers at Marina Bay is a magnificent sight to behold... Grand and magnificent in splendour.. I took the opportunity today to leisurely drive pass Bayfront Avenue and that was where i took this photo with my E71 Nokia... I wun say its a very nice shot bcoz its being clipped away at the bottom and the top... But I have no choice bcoz I was just almost below the 3 giant towers lor.... Want to zoom out also cannot liao.... haha... But its really nice.

Even thought the construction is not fully completed yet with only the hotel, casino and a part of the shopping mall opened... the area is already filled with so many people walking to and from the Bayfront Bridge... The recently opened (Helix Bridge) linking Marina Square area to Marina Bay Sands.... In fact.. I have been observing the construction of the MBS everytime I drove along ECP Benjamin Sheares Bridge.. From the initial days where there were so many crawler cranes preparing the site foundation.. followed by the erection of the numerous tower cranes and finally with the 3 hotel towers creeping up slowly in the sky.. level by level.. then finally the construction of the Sky Garden at the top linking the 3 towers together... hmmmmm... construction has never been easy i suppose... I believe that at the time of her construction, it could be the only site in Singapore that is working 24/7... unbelievable.. and finally it has taken shape after so much hard work... in my humble opinion... i think the 3 majestic hotel towers represents the pride of Marina Bay area... haha..

Recently i went to watch IP Man 2... damn nice sia... Yong Chun Quan... This is the first time i heard of this kungfu and i am really amazed by its technique... Its actually a close combat kungfu.. I think many Singaporeans has already watch this movie by now.... So I went to buy Part one of Ip Man to watch.. wow.. splendid.. the fighting is really great.... You can defend and yet be offensive... I know of a place in Singapore where they teach Yong Chun Quan... at 95A Lavender Street.. hmmmmm.. should I go take up and learn.... Maybe given my size.. i think I should sign up and pick up the skill also.... well.. not to beat up people that I dun like.. but rather to keep in good health and shape.. however.... I can still beat up people i dislike should they really really step on my fat tail... wahahaha.... but I guess thats the last thing i wanna do la.... bcoz i am quite soft hearted one.... just like Ip Man.. haha...

I saw an interview at Youtube... its an interview with Ip Chun... I forgot already but I think he is the eldest son of Ip Man... He was saying " If people take up Yong Chun Quan thinking that they can take on 9 or 10 people at one time.. then I guess... Yong Chun Quan will not be pass on for generations.. but if people take up this Kungfu to keep healthy and fit.. then there is a long future for Yong Chun Quan..." Well.. I think what he says is very true... Violence is never a solution.. Indeed chinese kungfu.. even though powerful but they are never used for violence.. I believe all great kungfu master or Sifu knows this well......

Anyway... i really wanna take up and learn.. i think its very interesting to see them sparring with Wooden dummies.... the technique used is really very unique... haha....

ok.. got to go ... blogging soon again.. but lets see what my next topic will be... haha...

Ciao for now....

USS New Jersey

Finally, at 80% completed, the USS New Jersey stands proud at her dry dock awaiting for her final fitout .. Only the small minute details are left so this ship will almost be completed very very soon.

I have taken a few snap shots of this great ship measuring a humongous 77.2 cm. Its in fact the largest and longest battleship i have in my collection... let alone my aircraft carriers.. they are much longer and larger... but in this case.. lets just compare apple to apple... I will be spending my next few days in the evening to do up this ship to its final completion. In fact I had been building this model at a very very slow pace.... the painting of the deck was quite tedious using alot of masking tape... In fact.. this ship is one of my most favourite battleships in WWII history. The length, the armament, the bridge layout design has made this ship a true beauty and legend of her time... She was designed together with 3 other sister ships as the Iowa Class battleships measuring a hefty 45,000 ton in displacement. Her firepower from her 9 16inch guns is more than enough to pound any ships or targets into extinction.....

Here a real life pic.... She is really a true beauty.... However she has been converted to a battleship museum liao... So her legend lives on today... almost half a century after she was born...

Ok... I gtg sleep liao... Goodnite and Ciao

The tough gets going

Wow... its been quite some time since i blog ya... Too many things happen at home.. such that i did not really have the mood to blog lately... but i guess i should not let my blog die off like this... so must keep going.. keep blogging...

Well, this tiger year was not a very good start for me.. in fact ... quite a shitty start for me.. so many problems but i dun wanna talk about it here in my blog... its over... pointless. I think lets just look forward and positive and forget about the past... As what my manager used to tell me... "lets move forward"... Indeed i should. I still have quite a few issues in front of me to settle and so I guess i will just have to take them one step at a time.

Hmmmm..... how to look forward or positive when you know you are heading into some thunderstorm or problems. Well.. what i always do is to see problems as challenges... never tell yourself that you are facing a problem.. but rather.... tell yourself that you are facing a challenge... and with challenges.. comes solutions. The word "problem" can just sometimes be too demoralizing.. so i rather see them as challenges. Thats one way to think positive...

New year was quite a bad start for me.... i lost 3 ships in my bedroom to some dreadful accidents that i dun really wanna discuss here.. its dreadful enough liao... also I got into a minor car accident that cost me 800 buckeroos to repair bcoz I did not wanna claim my car insurance.. sigh... next.. my colleague is leaving the company this coming Friday and this week is going to be quite a busy week for me.. there is going to be alot of handover and even more projects to follow through... oh dear... may the good Lord grant me wisdom in the face of all these challenges...

The loss of my 3 ships... namely the Yamato, the King George V and Cutty Sark has taken a toll on my morale to contnue building more ships... took me quite sometime to reorganise my naval construction facility and I am glad to say now I am back to rebuilding my next ship which is the USS New Jersey.... Very beautiful ship... I took alot of pains to paint and assemble the ship but now its only about 60% completed... I will take a snap shot of it when its done...

Haizz.... dun feel like blogging much today... so i guess thats that for today... I hope to punch in something more interesting on my next blog.. so see ya soon

Ciao.... yup.. today got pics to show... lol

Year of the Tiger

Its the Year of the Tiger. Happy Prosperous New Year to everyone out there. May your career and love life roar as loud as the tiger!!!

Ok.. This Chinese New Year will really be a time for me to relax abit as I took leave for the next three days after the 2nd day of CNY. So basically I am on leave all the way for one whole week.

Friday went down to St James Power Station to chill with some of my colleagues. First time I am there... Quite a nice place to chill actually. The ambiance was quite cosy and I like the place where we chose to sit... The swing area.. haha.. Basically I was swinging and rocking all the way from the start till the end... spilling a cup of Tiger beer onto the floor and making my colleague complain about dizziness... haha... But its fun. Really nice place to chill and talk cock about work and poking fun at others.. so damn funny... Well, tat day at St James.. managed to catch sight of a white Lamborghini LP560-4 driving past me as we waited to cross over at the traffic junction to St James...It was speeding its way into Sentosa... Nice sia... Looks like that driver is a resident in Sentosa Cove..

Come Saturday...Its was CNY's eve... Time to have reunion dinner with family... We had steam boat.... but although there was a spread on the table... i did not really enjoyed the dinner... only ate abit here and there.. Well.. I was not very happy with my father as I just had war with him a couple of days earlier... Me and him.. we will never click... He is always finding fault with me and I am always not respecting him... yup.. no point.. Even my mother knows this... Its quite hard to stay with someone that always wanna find fault with you.. So basically.. WE DUN TALK TO EACH OTHER... Thats why I did not enjoy this year's reunion dinner... Until the day he knows how to define peace and tame his bloody mouth that is always ranting words to hurt ppl's feelings..... I see no way of patching up.. The cold war will just go on for all I care..

Well, for my new year.. really nth much.. just another long weekend holidays for me... I had started the construction of the Russian Carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov".. I am quite disappointed with the quality of the mold actually... had a very very hard time trying to assemble the 700 plus pieces together... Buy the time I am writing this blog.. i am only about half done with the assembly.. Initially I almost wanted to give up on this model... Most parts dun fit snugly leaving so many gaps here and there...There was so much difficulty in attaching the flight deck to the hull and the entire process was simply atrociously time consuming... I had to basically use masking tape to tap to parts together just to hold them in place for the glue to set... The construction of the bridge was terrible also.. so many small parts... I must say this is the hardest model i ever assemble to date...

Well at least my ytd nite.. I managed to got the flight deck and the hull fully up... Now I am already doing up the bridge... This part will be very time consuming.. But I must say.. Trumpeter molding details for the model very precise... thats why so many small parts even though some of the parts to fit in nicely.. sigh..
Anyway.. I also just learnt that building ships are the most difficult compared to building planes and tanks or what have you... The parts will easily come in hundreds of pieces... Admiral Kuznetsov itself is already 700 pieces altogether... wow...anyway its enjoyable... Imagine from those few hundred pieces into one big ship...Thats the satisfaction i get when i see all the small parts become one big model....

Here are some of the pics..

And this is the bridge... still alot alot of small parts not up yet.. At this stage as you can see in the picture... its only about 30% completed.. the small pieces are the killer..

Ok.. tats that for today... need to continue with the bridge construction...

Tonight 1130pm got the movie... 100 pound beauty.. korean movie.. very funny.. i will be watching it... Maria... ave Maria!!!

Ciao..

Sleepy day...

I was quite tired or rather sleepy at work today, especially after having taken my lunch. Maybe i ate too much such that my brain just went into the drowsy state while I was driving around. Dun know why... SO many things happen at work today.. actually not really many things la... just one big issue got blown up in office... it was quite a big one and by evening, I was told that it had became quite a BIG HOO HAA... Nah.. I dun wanna comment or blog much about it since its a by product of some political tensions in my office. AS you know.. I am not a big fan of office politics. Do you know how planes get to their destination safely most of the time?? They have this thing known as a weather radar that will map out on the display screen areas with bad weather conditions.. So what pilots do is fly around it and not fly into it.... I hope to have this weather radar fitted. I dun wanna fly into these thunderstorm situations again man... Just hope that the issue will settle down soon.. May peace reign again soon.

By the time I finish my work at 5pm plus, I was already very tired.. Wanted to go home but too early liao... dun know what to do at home.. SO I decide to ask my friend out for dinner and movie. We headed on down to Tampines Mall for our dinner first then followed by movie at 1910hrs... I wanted to catch a movie bcoz I just needed a place to rest comfortably and relax.. so catching a movie was the best... at least they have comfy seats for me to lay back and relax..

We decided to dine at DTF (Din Tai Fung)... Hmmmm.. very good experience indeed... WE ordered XLBs (xiao long boa) and some other stuff and took our own sweet time to enjoy our meal as we had a space of 1 hr before the movie starts...

I must say that all my dining experience at DTF has always been a good one. ESp today... haha.. WE ordered a set of 10 XLBs.. but when they were served... we were told that one of the XLBs was not to quality and the "zhup" (juice) inside had already leaked away due to a hole in that XLB skin... Well.. i was ok with it anyway but the waiter took the initiative to give us one more XLB since one of them was not in good condition.. yes.. its not a one to one exchange .. its ONE MORE XLB for us to enjoy..

The funny thing is .. when that replacement XLB came... wow man.. its was served alone in that big bamboo container.... like tat below...

Wow!!! Initially i tot they are just going to serve that ONE XLB in a small plate or wat,... but instead, it was served like how they will serve a set of 10 XLBs... I was so stunned that i just wanted to take a pic and show you guys... Indeed, their professionalism is commendable and they do take pride in dishing out their XLBs since it is DTF's signature dish... hmmmm.... I must say that until today.. I have clocked no bad dining experience at any of DTF's outlets here in Singapore.. The service and attention of the staff is really good...

Next was movie.. We went to watch 14 blades, a chinese movie with Donnie Yen as the main cast.. As I said earlier on.. i just wanted to rest.. but i was so absorbed in the movie that my eyes were wide open... its really a good movie and the fighting, the stunts and effect is really good...

Reach home at about 2230 hrs... bath and managed to do up some areas of my Russian carrier... Put some putty and sand them down to fill all the holes and gaps .. attached some other parts also.. still I am just taking the construction at a snail slow pace... In fact .. nth to do.. so just build a bit for fun before I rest for the day...

Ok finally.. tmr is Friday liao... really looking forward to my super long CNY holiday bcoz i apply leave next wed to fri.. but shit... my manager not approved yet sia.. tmr die die must ask her to approve liao... Haiz.. in fact.. today i already switch off liao... i believe most of us also switch off in view of CNY... SOme comapny out there even better still.. they already closed since ytd... wa lau.. so good ar?? no need to work is it?? And the sad thing is... my company dun even have half day tmr... haiz.. but its ok... long weekend ahead.. "Tong" a while more...

ok i tell u what....i am really bushed up now man.. gotta go sleep now... cannot hold out much longer..

I am gone with the wind....................... ......

Ciao...

We are CODE RED!!!

Work has not been smooth and plain sailing recently. My company seems to be in a midst of a massive manpower and organization restructuring this starting of the year and I do hope that it will be of a good cause .. beneficial to both the company and the workers... Well, I am still not aware of what the concrete plans that will be laid down and looks like announcement on this great plan is due soon... Lets look forward to it.. However the most important thing is our bonus in March and our pay increment in April... These two issues will be on the top of everybody's mind right now even as we prepare to head into the year of the tiger in days to come...

Even as my company is doing her best to reorganize, it is with utmost regret that my team has fallen prey to every company's most defiant enemy..... RESIGNATION.. By 1745 hrs today, i was given the word through sms that my dear colleague has resigned from his post. His last day will be on the 9th March next month..

Well in fact, his resignation will definitely throw my manager of her seat and maybe out of her office window I guess... wahahaha.... Just as we are struggling and coping with the loss of our previous colleague who tendered her resignation last october.. we have now lost another one. As you know.. my team is already so lean... and unless we can find another replacement in time.. we will be reduced to skin and bones... It means I will have alot alot more things to follow up on, more tender interviews to attend and tender quotations to submit.... more of everything i am doing now.. oh dear.. May the Lord have mercy on our poor souls..I repeat... We are in CODE RED... CODE RED!!!!

People leaving the company for greener pastures outside is just part and parcel of our working life i guess.. we just gotta learn to cope with it and move on.. Over the last couple of months.. I have seen so many people leaving the company and sending out so many farewell emails.. oh dear.... Our manpower seems to be dropping like flies man... I wonder if the recruitment is able to match the rate at which we are loosing ppl... and the worst is.. some of these people have wealth of experience and knowledge behind them.... Loosing them to other companies especially our competitors will not put us at a good position in the market...

Well... what to do?? Life goes on and we just continue to work.. the most important thing is getting our pay on time everytime... For me... I will have to stay till at least 20th August this year in order to clock my 2 years experience in an MNC.. Something that will look good in your resume next time... of course.. i do hope to stay as long as I can but i shall see how it goes.... To me... I dun believe in working for others all my life... I want to start and run a business myself or with friends... I am still searching for this right opportunity.. well... currently i do have one but i am unable to focus on it due to my busy schedule at work and conflict of interest... haiz..... but this does not mean i am giving up....

Anyway.. thats all i wanna share today...whatever happens.. lets just move on. I believe things will turn out better at the end of the day.

Haha.. i just started the assembly of my new Russian Carrier.. the Admiral Kuznetsov... managed to get the hull up even though the parts did not fit in nicely at first... Here's a pic to show you...

She is also quite massive in size... Once completed.. She will be comparable in size to that of the USS Enterprise... However.. I am taking the construction of this Russian carrier at a slow and relax pace... This is just the beginning... I managed to smuggle this ship home at nite when my parents are already sound asleep... haha...

Ok... Gotta go sleep now.. Tmr is thurs liao.... Starting to switch off soon for CNY long weekend.... Will be back tmr... Ciao for now...
